What is Clean Sweep Computers?

Every few years, the average american household purchases a new computer. For some, it's a portable way to do homework for class. For others, it's an exciting way to enjoy the newest technologies. But unfortunately for most, the reason for spending money on a new computer is simply because their current one "is broken". I put that phrase in quotes, because 9 times out of ten, the only reason why a "broken" computer isn't working is just because it needs simple, routine maintenance. You wouldn't expect your car to work for years without routine maintenance, so why do we expect our computers to?

The problem with routine maintenance, is it is expensive. If you compare the price of a simple virus/malware removal service from a company like GeekSquad($150-400), to the price of a mid-range computer right now ($300-600), it's easy to see why people would like to just start over with a fresh computer. Fortunately, it doesn't have to be that way. Many of the things needed to maintain, or even fix your computer are easily done in your home with minimal expense(often none) to yourself. Over the course of this blog, I hope to show you that not only can you get that old computer running again, but that you can also optimize it to run better than ever!

We will cover everything from:
  • Removing viruses and malware
  • Proper set-up of protection measures(i.e. firewalls, anti-virus software, etc.)
  • Removal of unnecessary programs
  • Safe browsing practices(i.e. how not to get viruses and malware in the first place)
  • Cleaning the actual computer case
  • Hardware upgrading/replacement
  • Using free alternatives to popular programs
Plus easy to understand explanations of how computers actually work! After all, it doesn't matter how useful information is, if you can't understand it. If you are able to use Facebook, or snap Lego's together, you will have the skills necessary to fix whatever problem your computer may throw at you! So stay tuned, and learn how you can get the most from your computer...
